Ear Lobe Repair

Repairing split, torn or stretched earlobes — from a torn piercing to gauged lobes — restoring a natural shape, with re-piercing possible later.

Ear Lobe Repair

What it is

Earlobe repair reconstructs lobes split or stretched by heavy earrings, trauma or deliberate gauging. The torn edges are freshened and closed precisely to restore a natural contour, and the lobe can usually be re-pierced after healing.

Who it's for

  • Split or torn earlobes from earrings or trauma
  • Stretched or gauged lobes wanting restoration
  • Partial or complete lobe clefts
  • Patients wanting to re-pierce after repair

The procedure

A quick procedure under local anaesthesia, taking 30–45 minutes per lobe. The edges are freshened and closed with fine sutures.

Recovery & aftercare

Minor soreness; sutures out at about a week. Re-piercing is usually possible six to eight weeks later, away from the scar.
