Fat Grafting

Transferring your own fat from where it isn't wanted to where it is — a natural, dual-benefit way to restore volume to the face, breasts or body.

Fat Grafting

What it is

Fat grafting harvests fat by gentle liposuction, purifies it, and re-injects it to add natural volume — to the face, breasts, buttocks or contour irregularities. Because it uses your own tissue, results feel and look entirely natural.

Who it's for

  • Facial volume loss or hollowing
  • Modest, natural breast or buttock enhancement
  • Correction of contour irregularities
  • Patients wanting a natural alternative to implants or filler

The procedure

Performed under sedation or general anaesthesia, taking one to two hours. Fat is harvested from a donor area, purified and grafted. Usually day-care.

Recovery & aftercare

Swelling and bruising at both donor and recipient sites for a week or two. Some grafted fat is reabsorbed, so the final volume settles over three months.

Frequently asked

Does all the fat survive?+
A proportion is naturally reabsorbed; the surviving fat is permanent. We slightly over-correct to allow for this.
Is it better than filler?+
For larger volumes and a natural, lasting result it can be — though it is a surgical procedure. We advise based on your goal.
Where is the fat taken from?+
Usually the abdomen or flanks, which also gives a slight contouring benefit there.
